Digestive Detox Broth for the Evening

Healthy Recipies
A simple, comforting and easy-to-digest recipe, ideal for moments when both body and mind need to slow down

I prepare this broth when I feel a bit overloaded — not only physically from occasional food excesses, but also mentally. Over time, I’ve learned that choosing foods that truly nourish what I need in that moment makes a big difference in how I rest and how I feel the next day.

It’s an excellent option for dinner, when the body doesn’t need heavy meals, but rather something that gently supports digestion, promotes balance and favors good sleep.

🥕 Ingredients (1–2 servings)

  • 1 leek
  • 1 onion
  • 1 celery stalk
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 1 teaspoon miso
  • Water
  • A few drops of extra virgin olive oil

👩‍🍳 Preparation

  1. Wash the vegetables well and cut them into large pieces.
  2. Once the water is boiling, add the leek, onion, celery and garlic.
  3. Add a few drops of extra virgin olive oil.
  4. Let it simmer gently for 15–20 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat and strain the vegetables, keeping only the broth.
  6. When the broth is no longer boiling, add 1 teaspoon of miso, mix well and serve.

🌿 Important notes

  • Miso is a fermented food. While it has many benefits, it may not suit everyone, especially if there are active digestive symptoms (bloating, gas, abdominal pain, diarrhea, SIBO, dysbiosis…).
  • If you know fermented foods don’t sit well with you, you can omit the miso — the broth will still be soothing and digestive.
  • This broth is not a detox diet or a treatment on its own, but rather a gentle, supportive option within a mindful approach to eating.

✨ Who may benefit from this?

  • People with slow or heavy digestion in the evening.
  • Periods of physical or mental overload.
  • As a light dinner to support restful sleep.

If you experience persistent digestive symptoms, chronic fatigue, or feel that “eating healthy” doesn’t always agree with you, an individualized approach is key.

Turmeric and curcumin: what science says, recommended doses, and a recipe for turmeric latte
Turmeric (Curcuma longa) is a bright yellow root widely used in Indian cuisine, Ayurvedic medicine, and traditional Chinese medicine. Today we know that its main active compound, curcumin, has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects that have sparked great scientific interest. But beware: not everything that has been seen in the laboratory has been proven in humans. Turmeric is not a panacea, nor should we all take supplements. What we can do is use it as part of an anti-inflammatory lifestyle, incorporating it into our daily cooking.
Acupuncture: an ancient medicine between tradition and evidence
Acupuncture is one of the oldest therapeutic tools we know—and at the same time, one of the most debated in modern medicine. Between needles, meridians, and scientific research, its history and current use reflect something deeper: different ways of understanding the body and health.
Which bread is truly healthy?
Many people who are not celiac have decided to eliminate gluten from their diet, thinking that it is the cause of their digestive discomfort. But in most cases, the problem is not gluten itself, but rather “modern” wheat and the ultra-processed products that contain it.
